Sea Tow Foundation for Boating Safety and Education
Sea Tow Foundation was founded in 2007 by Captain Joe Frohnhoefer, the founder of Sea Tow International, to promote safe boating practices and educational initiatives that directly reduce accidents, fatalities and property damage related to recreational boating.
Captain Joe’s Vision
Today, the Sea Tow Foundation preserves Captain Joe’s vision through boating safety and educational programs such as the Life Jacket Loaner Program, that offers boaters life jackets to borrow and return at no charge from stations located throughout the United States; and through the Designated Skipper Program, which asks boaters to be responsible by ensuring there is a qualified sober skipper; and through its website.
Boating Safety Resources for You
BoatingSafety.com is a single source of boating safety information for family recreational boaters and individual boating enthusiasts. With one stop, a boater can get weather and tides data, the latest local notices to mariners, and other safety resources that might be needed. In addition, visitors will find navigation and communications information along with links to other boating organizations.
Boating Safety Network of Support
The Sea Tow Foundation is thankful to its supporters who form a volunteer network throughout the United States to support Sea Tow Foundation boating safety and educational programs. Working together they host, maintain, promote, and set up new Life Jacket Loaner Stations; create awareness about the Designated Skipper Program; and raise funds to continue boating safety and educational program outreach. Sea Tow Foundation is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization and charitable contributions are tax deductible.
