|2022 Sea Tow Foundation Life Jacket Loaner Program Grant Application|
Summer of 2022 Life Jacket Grant Application
If your organization, business or agency is interested in hosting and/or maintaining a Sea Tow Foundation Life Jacket Loaner Station, please read and fill out this entire form. The Life Jacket Loaner Stations will be stocked with life jackets in a variety of sizes available for boaters to borrow free of charge for a day out on the water.
This application will be open from November 1, 2021 through February 1, 2022. All applicants will be notified by March 31, 2022 as to whether they have been selected to receive life jackets.
Please note that the purpose of this grant program is to provide life jackets to the boating public free of charge that can be borrowed and returned to keep them safe on the water. Priority must be to locations with boating as the primary purpose, but life jackets can also be used at those locations for other water activities such as fishing, swimming, etc. If your organization, business or agency requires payment or a membership to access your facility, there must be a plan in place that the life jackets could still be accessed by non-paying or non-members that could benefit from the use of the life jackets.
A limited number of life jacket loaner stand building kits will be available to be shipped and only one can be requested by each organization, business or agency. There is no additional cost for these, but due to the limited supply, you will also be asked if your organization, business or agency can build their own stand. Building plans can be provided upon request. Signage will be available to all new stand locations.
If your organization, business or agency is selected to receive life jackets, you will be required to sign a Terms and Conditions Document with the Sea Tow Foundation agreeing to complete monthly online reports from the time the life jackets are shipped to you through the end of September. These reports will be available online and are accessible by mobile phone, tablet or computer and will include an estimated count of the life jackets borrowed each month along with a photo of the stand. An example of last year’s monthly reporting form is available and a webinar was recorded to explain how to report on the use of the life jackets. The reporting form may change slightly for 2022, but it has not been finalized at this time. Failure to complete these monthly reports will result in your organization’s inability to receive life jackets from the Sea Tow Foundation in future grants.

With a focus on safe boating practices that result in fun on the water, the Sea Tow Foundation – a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization – was established in 2007 by Sea Tow Founder Capt. Joe Frohnhoefer. After his passing in 2015, Captain Joe’s legacy continues as the Foundation brings attention to the number of preventable boating-related injuries, deaths, and damage to property, that directly addresses prevention methods through education and awareness.
