National Boating Industry Safety Awards Application 2020

The National Boating Industry Safety Awards were established to recognize and celebrate the top for-profit boating industry companies for their commitment to promoting boating safety initiatives. These efforts can include but are not limited to encouraging boaters to wear life jackets, designate a sober skipper, use VHF radios properly, use engine cut-off lanyards, take a boating safety course, carry required boating safety equipment, or discussing other boating safety topics.

You will be asked to provide examples of your company’s boating safety messaging used in a specific outreach effort.

We highly recommend you do not start the application until you have collected these items and are ready to complete it as you cannot sign out and return to the application.

In order to apply, you will need to be prepared to respond to the following:

  1. Written details as to the goals/objectives of the boating safety message and a description of the outreach effort.
  2. A description of the intended audience of the boating safety message (gender, age range, families vs. individuals, type of boat, type of boating activity, etc.)
  3. The demographics of the actual audience reached including the number of people as identified by measurements including analytics illustrating audience engagements, audience response, and/or feedback from the audience that was reached.
  4. A description of the success of the promotion for the outreach effort including how the success was measured and the results achieved.
  5. An upload of a photo, video, graphic, and/or other visual element used to capture the outreach messaging.
  6. Your company’s efforts must have taken place between August 15, 2019, and August 15, 2020, within the United States of America. Please note that a separate judging category applies to multi-year campaigns.
  7. Applications are due by midnight on October 15, 2020.
  8. Applications will be reviewed and scored only after the deadline has passed on October 15, 2020. Winners will be announced at MRAA’s Dealer Week scheduled for December 8—11, 2020 in Austin, TX.

Please ensure you complete ALL of the required categories marked with a red star. This includes the last section (L) which asks if there is anything else you would like the judges to consider. If you have nothing additional to write, you must write something in the blank or else the form will not be able to be submitted and you can just write "none" in that field.

By filling out the application, I certify that my business represents a for-profit entity within the boating industry and that I am applying for the award in the following category (choose only one category per application):
