The Sea Tow Foundation’s mission is to provide access to education, tools and resources to eliminate preventable recreational boating accidents and deaths.
OUR vision. OUR dream.
The Sea Tow Foundation envisions a world where boaters are safe and responsible.
History
The Sea Tow Foundation – a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization - was established in 2007 by Captain Joe
Frohnhoefer, the founder of Sea Tow. After
Captain's Joe's passing, the Sea Tow Foundation upholds his
legacy by bringing attention to the number of preventable
boating-related accidents, injuries and deaths on the water. Through its flagship programs which include the Life Jacket Loaner Program, Sober Skipper Campaign, Flare Education, and the National Boating Safety Awards, the Sea Tow Foundation strives towards its vision of a world where boaters are safe and responsible.
Financials
The Sea Tow Foundation receives funding from a number of diverse sources including individual donors, corporate sponsorship, and in-kind gifts and services. Grant funds are provided through private foundations, state and regional
governmental entities and through the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund, administered by the U.S. Coast Guard. As a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations to the Sea Tow Foundation are tax-deductible. Copies of our 990s and other
tax-related documents are available on Guidestar.
