PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL SAFE BOATING WEEKMark your calendar for May 16-23, 2025National Safe Boating Week is held every year during the week before Memorial Day to reach and educate boaters at the start of the summer boating season. This year, the Sea Tow Foundation is amplifying the Sober Skipper message with the release of the 3rd video in our Sober Skipper: Why It Matters series. Each day during National Safe Boating Week, the Sea Tow Foundation will be sharing a video boating safety tip on social media from Life by the Bow and Mike Iaconelli, the stars of the first two videos in our series. Their tips will spread awareness of ways to be safer on the water and we encourage you to share them. We are excited to announce the star of our newest video, Thomas Herman, a professional wakeboarder. Thomas explains why having a Sober Skipper at the helm is so important to him and why he always rides sober as well in his video. Make sure to check it out here. To celebrate Wear Your Life Jacket to Work Day on May 16th, the Sea Tow Foundation has developed a social media frame that you can use to showcase your own photo. Simply click on one of the frame images below to save it and then add your photo. Share it on social media on May 16 with a tag to @SeaTowFoundation so we don't miss seeing all of the fun.

VOLUNTEER TO PROMOTE BOATING SAFETY IN YOUR AREAWe need your help to maintain and promote our boating safety efforts in your local area. Volunteers like you operate our programs in more than 1,500 communities nationwide. You can promote the Sober Skipper Campaign at local events and encourage people to Take the Sober Skipper Pledge using the flyer on our online store. Another option is to help maintain and restock Life Jacket Loaner Stations for the current hosts. You can also use our materials to fit children with life jackets at events, collect life jackets at Life Jacket Drive events, and sharing boating safety tips with boaters at community festivals and fairs.
