Host a Life Jacket Drive

Life Jacket Drives can be hosted by anyone to collect new or gently used life jackets that can be used in a life jacket loaner program in your community to help boaters stay safe on the water.

Do you have life jackets to donate? Please fill out this form and we will be in touch within a few days with contact information of where you can drop off your life jackets near you. 

The Sea Tow Foundation has developed the following program manual and materials to help you hold a successful Life Jacket Drive to add more life jackets to your local loaner station. To open, download and/or print this document, click here or on the image to open the pdf file.

All of the materials needed can be found in our store including a downloadable poster, Inspection Checklist, waterproof stickers that can be put on donated life jackets, and box labels for your collection bins.

When collecting used life jackets be sure to use the checklist above or go to this blog to be sure they are in good enough shape to be used again.

Another benefit of the Life Jacket Drive is that it can help a Life Jacket Loaner Station host restock an existing station or start an entirely new station with the donated life jackets that are collected in a community drive. Life jackets are expensive and grant funding is not guaranteed each year, so the Life Jacket Drive is one way to help ensure our Life Jacket Loaner Station hosts will be able to keep their programs running throughout the year.
